Tired of pretending can’t do that - not me I must sit here in the stillness of my heart It’s thundering down in me Waiting for a chance to hear my own voice These stolen moments are all I have It’s thundering down in me It’s rumbling around in me I must pretend I’m not and I can’t let it show You don’t look too long now and you pretend you don’t know It’s thundering down in me It’s rumbling around in me It’s buzzing around in me It’s thundering down in me It’s rumbling around in me It’s buzzing around in me It’s thundering down in me It’s rumbling around in me It’s buzzing around in me |

STORY BEHIND THE SONG: This was originally written as a poem kind of thing a long time ago in the truckstop in Plymouth, Indiana, on a paper placemat. When I wrote my first song on guitar and needed lyrics I went digging through a bunch of old papers and found this. I lifted out lines and arranged it into a song. It’s about having to keep things from people when you wish you could just tell the truth but the consequences of the truth are too freaking hard to take. We haven't recorded it yet, but we play it live. |
